THE NATURAL HERITAGE
SEEPING IN THE RICHNESS
While soaking in the view of Town Creek from the Brunswick Nature Park boat launch, any eastern North Carolina native would swell with pride for the beauty of the state which we call home. Often overlooked for the iconic Blue Ridge, or the endless aesthetic of our coast, eastern North Carolina’s wetlands and rivers have a more subtle charm of their own. In developing the concept of Brunswick Beer and Cider, we kept returning to the metaphor of seeping in the richness of our natural heritage–much like the way a cypress tree seeps in the minerality of North Carolina’s historical rivers. We chose a triad of cypress trees for the Brunswick Beer and Cider logo as a nod to the breath-taking, ghostly groves of Town Creek and also the ancient, lush cypresses of the neighboring Three Sisters Swamp.
A THRIVING COMMUNITY
ESTABLISHING BRUNSWICK BEER & CIDER
At Brunswick Beer and Cider, it’s just plain common sense to want to nestle our passion project amidst a thriving community that’s been built near the banks of a tidal-influenced tributary. New to Leland but not eastern North Carolina, we’re proud of our rural scrappiness and grit–only softened by our second-nature hospitality, ingrained by a collective southern grandma. We’re proud of our eastern, coastal heritage and hope to flourish amongst Brunswick County’s new growth.
Most at home paddling kayaks through a swampy cypress grove, our instinct is to protect our ample natural resources, and invest in the people rooted in Brunswick County. Like our sister brewery, Wrightsville Beach Brewery, we aim to “rise with the tide”–donating proceeds from a revolving “give-back beer” each month to local non-profit partners whose values we share.
